Please Hear Me - A Poem about a writers voice
Please Hear Me
I write because no one listens
The ink bleeding from my hands
My fountain pens fighting to keep up with demand
I write because no one listens
no one hears me, even if I scream
I feel invisible in a place where
I'm meant to be otherwise
I write because no one listens
My voice dies out in the end
giving up, forget trying.
They won't listen.
I write because no one listens
I'm destined for greatness
but...
what lays beyond is knowing...
no one. will ever. truly hear me.
Please hear me.
Authors note: I don't feel like this all the time but I do think there is an intrinsic difficulty in writers expression of themselves, our thoughts are personal, poetic even, so it's hard for us to feel actually heard. As a reader, we don't understand an author's true voice, nor their true intent, leaving a writer clawing the page in ink marks hoping someone out their will get it.
